MONTEFALCO SVELATA: D’ESTATE VISITE TEMATICHE TRA STORIE, ARTE E TRADIZIONI

From July to September 2025, themed weekend tours of the San Francesco Museum Complex and the city of Montefalco will allow you to discover its cultural and historical heritage. An unmissable opportunity to experience Montefalco authentically, amidst art, faith, tradition, and beauty.

Special tours in Montefalco all summer long. The San Francesco Museum Complex presents "Montefalco Revealed: Stories, Art, and Traditions," a rich program of six themed tours taking place on weekends from July 13th to September 20th, 2025. The tours intertwine the charm of the city and its artistic heritage with the historical and cultural context of the surrounding area, offering an immersive experience designed to reveal the hidden treasures and most significant stories of Montefalco, known as the "Balcony of Umbria" for its breathtaking views. The initiative is curated by Maggioli Cultura e Turismo in collaboration with tour guide Monica Lupparelli.

The itineraries wind through the museum's halls, the frescoes of the great Umbrian masters, and the charming streets of the village, in a continuous dialogue between art, faith, tradition, and beauty. An unmissable opportunity to experience Montefalco authentically, guided through the centuries by those with a profound knowledge of the stories and faces that make it unique.

It begins on Sunday, July 13th, at 5:00 pm, with "Montefalco, the city and the territory," an itinerary through nature, history, and breathtaking views. On Sunday, July 20th, at 10:30 am, the event features "Francesco Melanzio, the painter of Montefalco," a journey through Renaissance Montefalco through the works of one of its most illustrious sons. Also on Sunday, July 20th, at 5:00 pm, the "Painting in Montefalco between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance" itinerary will take you on a journey through spirituality and artistic beauty, discovering the masterpieces of Benozzo Gozzoli and Perugino. The discovery of masterpieces continues on Sunday, August 3rd, at 10:30 am, between the Museum and the Convent of San Fortunato with "Exploring Benozzo's Places: A Guided Tour of Art and History."
On Saturday, August 16th, at 10:00 a.m., "Chiara da Montefalco" will offer a spiritual and artistic exploration of the figure of the Saint, starting with the church and sanctuary she founded. The series of themed tours concludes on Saturday, September 20th, at 5:00 p.m., with "Montefalco, the City and the Territory," a new opportunity to experience the village through different eyes, amidst unforgettable views and tales of the past.
